Freeed.com is a new kind of digital platform for education, connecting teachers, schools and publishers globally. Freeed applies the best of teacher knowledge, resources and creation to cutting-edge technologies in a networked world. Freeed aims to create a global online discovery platform for teachers together with teachers that will support their daily work. Resources and ideas are easily created, saved and shared in a way that is well thought-through and suited to teachers’ needs.

Founded in 2018, Freeed is a startup at the beginning of its journey aiming towards global markets. The company is backed by the top professionals of the startup world, such as Ilkka Paananen from Supercell.

Are you looking for a journey, where you can combine a big vision and the coolest technologies? Do you want to dedicate your time to help solve global challenges in education and to make a positive impact on our future?

We are looking for a skilled Software Developer to build the Freeed platform as a part of a growing international team. Your role is versatile covering the entire development lifecycle, but it can be adjusted to your skills, experience and interests. We are preferably looking for a developer, who is skilled in backend development and interested in solving challenges related to software performance and scalability. However, skills in frontend development, databases and cloud infrastructures (AWS) are valued. As we are aiming to build a mobile application in the near future insights into mobile development are appreciated as well. You will work together with a CTO, another developer, designer and rest of the Freeed team as well as with a select group of external consultants.

We hope that you are ambitious about your own impact like all of us. We will offer you the freedom and responsibility to get results as well as great chances for personal development: as we are growing quickly, you might even get to build and lead a team, if that’s what you are up for. You will succeed in this role if you have some years of relevant work experience in web development, are able to work independently and have a strong interest in developing your expertise, the platform and the company further. We are preferably looking for a full-time developer but part-time hours are negotiable.

This is what you get:
- Possibility to make a big positive impact in education globally and build your expertise in a growing startup
- A chance to work with the top professionals in the EdTech and startup industry
- A chance to impact broadly on your work and product development in general
- Possibilities for personal development
- Competitive salary and equity options
- Possibility for remote and part-time work

We expect you you to have:
- Some years of work experience in web development
- Skills in JavaScript: especially Node and React (or other frameworks)
- Understanding of databases and AWS
- Experience with modern software development tools and practices such as Continuous Deployment, Kubernetes, Github, Docker and/or Test Automation
- Strong skills in English

We consider an asset:
- Hobby projects in programming
- Experience in mobile development
