The Arctic Council Secretariat (ACS) serves and supports the work of the Arctic Council and in particular, the Chairmanship of the Arctic Council. The ACS has 12 employees and is located at the Fram Centre in Tromsø, Norway. http://www.arctic-council.org/

The Arctic Council Secretariat has a full-time position available for a recent graduate in computer science, IT, information systems management, or a related field who is eager to develop his or her skills and experience by taking on diverse operational tasks in an international environment.

Tasks and qualifications

As our new IT consultant, you will ensure that the ACS is operational and equipped to handle the broad range of tasks for which we are responsible. You will keep track of our technical equipment, software, licenses, and relevant agreements, and you will ensure that our security systems are up to speed. Work related to SharePoint and SuperOffice CRM will be important; support and consultation for our staff members will be other key tasks. We will look to you to improve our work processes by exploring and implementing new technologies and solutions.

The Arctic Council has a service agreement with a larger IT company in Tromsø, and you will have the opportunity to consult with them on various issues. You will have the opportunity to travel and participate in international meetings, but will not be required to do so. As we are a small team, you may also be called upon to assist with other tasks as needed that fall into the suite of tasks for which the ACS is responsible.

Ideal qualifications for this position include:

• A completed bachelor's or master’s degree in an IT-related subject
• Experience with SharePoint
• Experience with cloud-based solutions
• Experience with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• A solutions-oriented mindset and a flexible, service-minded disposition
• Good English capabilities, both oral and written
• Eagerness to work in an international and multilingual environment

Requirements

In accordance with the ACS staff rules, article 5.2, applicants for this position must be a citizen of one of the eight Arctic States (Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and the United States). This is an absolute and non-negotiable requirement.

Terms

The position is initially a four-year contract. At the end of the four-year contract, there is the possibility of a permanent contract. The annual salary will be in accordance with the salary levels in the staff rules of the Arctic Council Secretariat, Schedule B, level 1 or 2 (NOK 465 852 – 589 154).

Membership in the Norwegian social security scheme as well as a private pension scheme will be provided. We offer flexible working hours with core working hours between 09.00 and 15.00. The ACS offers free mobile phone and home broadband, office subscriptions to newspapers, and an optional one-hour weekly workout during work hours. We encourage our employees to take relevant courses and training to foster professional development.

There is a six-month trial period for this position.

ARBETSUPPGIFTER
Som Financial Controller kommer du arbeta tätt med den svenska Senior Financial Controllern som även blir den person som du rapporterar till. Du kommer att ansvara för de finska kunderna men även stötta upp din kollega på den svenska marknaden. Dagarna kommer vara varierande och arbetsbelastningen kommer stundtals vara hög då det är tusentals fakturor, stora som små vars betalningsströmmar ska kontrolleras löpande.

Hantera redovisningen kring det dagliga faktureringsflödet mot de finska kunderna

Hantera supportärenden mot företagskunder

Stötta Senior Financial Controllern med andra ad hoc uppgifter som kan förekomma

Hakijoilta edellytetään Terveydenhuollon ammattihenkilöistä annetun lain (559/94) mukaista sairaanhoitajan laillistusta. Autamme hakemaan laillistusta Ruotsin Socialstyrelsenistä. Hakemuksen käsittelyyn menee noin 4-12 viikkoa. 

Valittujen henkilöiden työaika on 38,25 tuntia/viikko (vuorotyö ja noin 12 tai 8 tunnin vuoroja kerrallaan). 
Sairaanhoitajatason Ensihoitajan lähtöpalkka on noin 31 500 KR + lisät (n. 3 300 €/kk + lisät.) Ensimmäisen vuoden jälkeen palkkaus nousee n. 10-20 %. Voidaan myös joustaa niin, että tekee esim 2 viikkoa pidempää vuoroa, jonka jälkeen voi tulla Suomeen viikoksi. Nämä asiat sovittavissa.

FALCK järjestää asunnon työntekijälle hänen maksukyvyn ja tarpeidensa mukaan, sekä auttaa käytännön järjestelyissä paikan päällä. Myös perehdytysjakso on palkallinen ja tarvittaessa majoitus on aluksi ilmainen. Mukaan voi lähteä yksin tai perheen kanssa. Majoitusvaihtoehtoja on lukuisia. Interns work 6-8 hours per day from Monday to Friday.

The practical work is advocacy, seminars, teaching and visibility. Rights issues are always sensitive matters and team work and networking is important. The Children’s Agenda program was developed by  team of NGOs including UNICEF, Save the Children and others and it is chaired by the Ministry of Community Work Gender and Children.

We are looking for to hire multi-professional students and interns to support our work. We tailor posts according to the participant's focus and interests and skills.

We provide in-country orientation and training and academic tutoring for the program.

Interns work in teams of international students and volunteer professionals. We encourage innovation in the program approach. Work hours are 6-8 hours per day, Monday thru Friday. The Children's Agenda is an ongoing program, and we can adjust start dates.

Paid internships include a local minimum wage of $100 USD per month. We also offer stipends depending on the terms of the internship and regulations of your home university. 

Starting and end dates are flexible and can accommodate other travel arrangements in Tanzania. International flights, Student permit, accommodation, and meals are personal costs. 

We also offer participants with disabilities personal assistants and drivers at additional expenses; $30 USD per week.
